Let me be clear. I am a Yank who has spent years on the road as a travelling account manager. I have eaten at hundreds of American diners across the US. I was hoping for that experience here but got no such luck. Now, don't get me wrong. This place is nice enough and the food and service are decent. But this is not an American diner, even though it is owned by US raised owners. I suspect the owners skewed the offerings towards British taste. Good enough, but no American bullseye here.An example, if you care. I ordered a cherry Coke. Coca-Cola manufactures cherry Coke these days (at least in the US). What I got was a bottle of Coke with an ice-filled glass with a splash of cherry syrup. Quaint if you want a 1950's style US soda stand experience. But this is the 21st century. Come on man!
